Reading Patterns
For the "Not" So Experienced
I have trouble reading patterns. The thing I find hardest is the three word sentence (direction) that was a major factor that I missed completely.
So my suggestion when starting out is, write out each and every direction, on its own line for yourself. If you write them out on the computer use size 14 font (hey I'm not kidding), or if you write it out, write it out large with a line in between each direction. So when you do start knitting you KNOW you haven't missed a major step!
Maybe as you become a very good machine knitter it is one thing, but for me starting out, some of those directions are like reading an encycolpedia.
So do yourself a favor; you will be glad you did.
I may write some simple patterns just for me and maybe you, too.
