Camping.....
Many people in my family love to go camping. Two years ago we went out to the Rocky Mountains for a family reunion, and oh what fun that was; I think it ended up being 34 people in all.

Otherwise every spring we can hardly wait till the weather starts warming up so we can bring our tent camper out of storage. We have already gone camping four times this year; twice locally, once up in Northern MN and once to the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area, in Yankton, SD.

Now when we go camping it is a gourmet affair........not just any hot dog will do for us, and that is one of the things that make it so much fun.

Another thing is the campfire. There is just something about a campfire.......just simply soothing and wonderful. Tim and Paul (my brother in law) sit around it for hours!

Also the comrade is second to none. Being with the family is the best, and even better in such a relaxing way. Sometimes around the campfire we do "highs and lows," which usually ends up with a sentimental story and a few tears here and there.

We usually bring our two grandchildren who live close to us; and what fun that is for them as well as us.

Lastly, the peacefulness; for most part you are away from the "hustle and bustle" of life. Although cell phones have hampered that a bit, there is still a peacefulness that is simply awesome.
AND, if it rains; just be prepared. We have had screened tents, ponchos and the like. You just make do........and it usually is "what you make of it."
If you have a camping story please email it to me; I'd love to hear some of your stories.
