Music that Matters
Sheltered Reality
Last summer while Tim and I made our annual trek to the Minnesota State Fair, we came across a fantastic group on one of the local stages. The group was called "Sheltered Reality;" a group composed mostly of young people, with a motivated leader, where they were playing drums. They were awesome to say the least! But even better, they had a great message; here are some words from their director, Steve Schlosser:
Loud music can be a parent’s worst nightmare. By playing unique drumming rhythms, Sheltered Reality hopes to inspire people to make a difference in the world. Sheltered Reality is a nonprofit musical organization made up of people ages 6 to 18. The group is dedicated to helping those who are less fortunate, including the homeless, runaways, victims of domestic violence, or drug and alcohol abusers.
Enjoy listening to a couple of their songs; and the next time they perform somewhere near you, go see them along with their inspiring message! You will be glad you did.
