Weight Tool II

The Journal

Accountability

I have a heavy duty small notebook (about a 4 X 6) with a lot pages in it and a pocket inside the front cover. Put your point sheet in the pocket.
  • Take a couple of recent pictures of yourself and put them throughout the journal. There is nothing better than a visual reminder.

  • Weigh yourself daily. No matter what; weigh yourself daily, and write it down. Put the date alongside it.

  • Write down your measurements periodically; monthly perhaps.

  • Write down the food you eat throughout the day and keep track of your calories or your points. I put my food on www.FitnessPal.com as it will tell how many calories the food is and calculate how many calories you have left to eat. Now you may say why use a journal then. Well for one thing you can’t carry a computer in your purse. Plus for all the years I have used a journal going back and looking where I have been is simply great (or not so great depending on what my weight was).

  • Write down under that day what you were doing or feeling, if it was significant. It will open up a whole new world of why you eat.

  • Take magazines that you have already read and cut out stories, quotes, and pictures and tape them throughout the journal. It is inspirational, and it may come on a day when you really need a boost.

  • Carry the small journal with you always. I keep mine in a small Weight Watcher carry all, and I put other useful things in there; it isn’t very big so it is perfect for carrying.
